The Vision at The End of the Year, 2020
Vulnerable moment: Gradually throughout my childhood, I lost my eyesight. At 21, shortly after I graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas and before I was set to begin my career as a graphic designer, I was diagnosed as legally blind. Receiving that diagnosis was devastating for my family, my confidence, and my plans for the future. However, my faith ultimately prevailed. I knew this wouldn’t define me, for my purpose was much bigger than eyesight.
After undergoing laser surgery, I miraculously regained 20/20 eyesight and it changed my life forever. In 2015, I started my own business, Cimone Key Creative Studio. Here, I work with small businesses to global brands, including Amazon, Sally Beauty, Adidas, Capital One, Live Nation, Chimy’s, and more. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding seeing my dream realized when I never thought I’d see much of anything.
What makes me the proudest is knowing that I own an agency that is supportive, inclusive, faith-based, and truly collaborative. That’s quite an anomaly in this industry, and here I am, paving the way for others like me to follow their creative and entrepreneurial dreams.
Now, after beating a recent COVID diagnosis, I’m engaged, I expanded my office into a 2800 sq ft studio, I’ve been featured on Forbes, Fox News, the Dallas Observer, moo.com, QuickBooks, CW, and was recently accepted into an elite business program at the top entrepreneurship school in the US.
As we prepare for Thanksgiving and a new year, I would like to give thanks to the almighty God and show some vulnerability during this season in order for others to know through trials and tribulations, God is always on the other side cheering and helping you through them. There has been a lot of self-reflection during 2020.
All of that to say: Put your trust in Him and lean into your faith. Faith will always guide you to exactly where you need to go.
